Information and direct links to four donation opportunities:

Berkeley Public Schools Fund: Emergency Relief

During school closures and the COVID-19 crisis, the Schools Fund will be directing community donations to support families in need identified by the BUSD Office of Family Engagement & Equity and the BUSD Homeless Outreach Program. Support could include groceries, emergency housing assistance, books, access to technology and other emergency needs that will help stabilize families and students during this crisis.

REACH Relief Fund (Oakland)

REACH Relief Fund (Oakland): Two weeks ago, our Oakland team helped raise over $11,000 for the REACH Relief Fund, but with a recent influx in applications, the REACH still needs close to $500,000 to meet the needs of Oakland families.

“The Oakland REACH moved quickly to create a relief fund to get resources into the hands of families that have been advocating for policies that are in the best interest of their students. Many of these families are out of work with this crisis and struggling to make ends meet, and it's our chance to stand with them to get our community through this time together.” - Jessica Stewart, GO Oakland Executive Director

Richmond Promise Scholars Rapid Response Fund (West Contra Costa)

As many college students face real challenges that threaten their educational journey, the Richmond Promise has put together a rapid response fund, and since March 13, they have provided over 140 students and counting with support for groceries, computers and WiFi access, and travel home. The Richmond Promise is looking to raise an additional $25,000 in emergency funds to support scholars affected by displacement and technology needs.

“We are so proud that so many scholars from Richmond are attending universities across the country. Unfortunately, this situation is particularly devastating to our college students, many of whom are first generation and won't qualify for other forms of relief. I'll do whatever I can to keep our babies on track.”

- Natalie Tovani-Walchuk, GO WCC Executive Director

United Way (Fresno/Madera Counties)

Recently we learned that there are potentially three million unemployed California residents. The United Way's Coronavirus Relief Fund provides services to workers impacted by COVID-19 closures and helps families with rent, housing, food, utilities, and other related expenses.

“United Way has been a trusted pillar in the bi-county area for years, and they have been on the front lines offering assistance directly to our families in Fresno since day one of the crisis. I couldn't think of a better group to give to during this unprecedented moment.”- Michael Espinoza, GO Fresno Executive Director

About Us

We are a group of four Campolindo graduates from the class of 2019 and current students at UC Berkeley and Amherst College. We have created a charity called Team Educational Development (TED). Due to the spread of COVID-19 and subsequent closing of all schools, many children are left without any way to continue their academic progress during this time.

Our mission is to support socioeconomically disadvantaged students from grades K through 12 by providing them with the materials required for them to continue developing academically during this time of remote learning. We have already planned multiple book drives across the community that will get books into the hands of children in under resourced communities in the Bay Area, enabling them to continue reading while they are not able to learn in a classroom setting.

Book Drive

Huge thank you to all those who participated in our first book drive! We completely exceeded our expectations, collecting over 3,000 books!  None of this would have been possible without your generosity! All those who participated have given hope to these children throughout the Bay Area!

New Projects Coming Soon

Team Educational Development is looking at all of the different ways COVID-19 has impacted education in surrounding communities. For our next project, we hope to do a technology drive where old laptops, old home wifi systems, and much more will be collected and delivered to underprivileged students that have been unable to participate in remote learning without these devices.

If you have any questions or would like to get involved in our next project please send us an email at the address below:
